Welcome to the Amerileagues Preseason Volleyball Tournament Page!
March 8th Update: Schedules are now available! Please scroll down on this page to find links to pools. This is a friendly round-robin tournament so while you keep score during your matches, there is no score reporting or standings kept. Thanks to everyone for participating this year!
March 6th Update: The following teams will be refunded registration money (for those that paid already) as we don't have enough teams of their gender/age/skill level to create a round robin: Kings Mitchel 4B, IHM Morgan 5B, IHM Gast 6B, and Guardian Angels Julkowski 6B. An email was sent this morning to all coaches who registered with this information.
Join us for our fourth annual Amerileagues Preseason Volleyball Tournament taking place on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th at Elite Athletic Sports Complex. This tournament is a friendly round robin event featuring three full matches against teams of your same skill level from the Cincinnati Premier Youth Volleyball and Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports leagues. There is no championship bracket, just come out and play and get ready for your season which starts the following weekend. Cost is $60 (paid online) + referee fees ($15 per match) paid at the gym.
Please hurry as this unique event will sell out. Registration closes at end of day March 5th. Please email Ben Goodyear (ben.goodyear@amerileagues.com) with any questions you might have!
Teams will follow GCCYS/CPYVL rules. A short rules document will be posted the week of the tournament to clarify any differences between league rules (there aren't many). Rally scoring is used and the first two sets will be played to 25 points and the third set to 15. Teams do not need to win a set by two points, so sets will end at 25 or 15.
Please note that all players must have a Liability Waiver filled out by a parent or guardian in order for that player to compete in the tournament. This liability waiver can and should be completed on your league (GCCYS/CPYVL) web site so that it also applies to league play.
In terms of rules, this tournament will be played via CPYVL (as GCCYS rules have recently changed for 5th grade, there are some differences). First two sets are played to 25 and the third set is played to 15 for all age groups. The match ends at 25 or 15 (no need to win by 2), since there is no award for winning, scores are not reported for this tournament.
