Welcome to the Amerileagues Preseason Volleyball Tournament Page!
The Tournament schedule is now available, scroll down on this page and click your grade. We will also be emailing teams later today with a few reminders about the tournament. Please note that we used every hour of gym time we had. Some teams will be playing at multiple sites on multiple days and others at a single site on a single day. There are many double-headers scheduled to reduce your time at the gym. We worked around all GCCYS regular season schedules. At this time, we are not able to make any changes to the schedule. A reminder that a $15 fee is due to the ref at the beginning of the match and tourney sites may charge gate feeds at CPYVL league rates. Rally scoring is used and sets will end at 25, 25, and 15 points respectively (no need to win by 2 points). Scores are not reported. We hope everyone has a great time getting ready for the regular season!
Join us for our second annual Amerileagues Preseason Volleyball Tournament taking place on Saturday August 26th and Sunday August 27th at Sports Express and Elite Athletic Sports Complex (we will work around all GCCYS regular season schedules). This tournament is a friendly preseason tune up event featuring three full round robin matches against teams of your same skill level from the Cincinnati Premier Youth Volleyball and Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports leagues. There is no championship bracket, just come out and play and get ready for your season which starts the following weekend. Cost is $60 (paid online) + referee fees ($15 per match) paid at the gym.
Please hurry as this unique event will sell out. Registration closes at end of day August 19th. Please email Ben Goodyear (ben.goodyear@amerileagues.com) with any questions you might have!
Teams will follow GCCYS/CPYVL rules. A short rules document will be posted the week of the tournament to clarify any differences between league rules (there aren't many). Rally scoring is used and the first two sets will be played to 25 points and the third set to 15. Teams do not need to win a set by two points, so sets will end at 25 or 15.
Please note that all players must have a Liability Waiver filled out by a parent or guardian in order for that player to compete in the tournament. This liability waiver can and should be completed on your league (GCCYS/CPYVL) web site so that it also applies to league play.
